Bring your people
Turn on Sign in with Google for your company's domains, so colleagues find the workspace on their own. Or share an invite link. On Business, directory sync adds everyone from Google Workspace, with titles, managers and Google Groups as @handles.

Set up the structure first
Create the channels you actually use and group them into folders before anyone logs in, so the first thing people see is tidy. On Business, default folders give every new member the same sidebar.

Tell the team
Send one short note: where to sign in, which channels replace which, and the day the old tool goes read-only. Re-point webhooks and bots the same day, so alerts land in the new place.

Overlap for a week, then close the door
Run both for a week so nothing falls between the cracks. Then make the old tool read-only. Conversations stay in one place, and the old archive is still there if you need it.

FAQ
Questions teams ask before they move
Can we bring our message history with us?
Not automatically yet. An importer for exports from other chat tools is being built now. Until it ships, keep the export from your old tool as your archive. From the day you move, Tandly keeps every message and file, searchable, on every plan (Free included).
How do people get in?
Three ways. Share an invite link or send e-mail invites. Or turn on Sign in with Google, limited to your company’s domains, so colleagues find the workspace themselves. On Business, directory sync adds everyone from Google Workspace, with titles, departments, managers and Google Groups, and keeps them up to date.
Can we run both tools side by side for a while?
Yes, and we recommend it: a week of overlap is usually enough. Make the old tool read-only at the end of the week so conversations don’t split in two. If you’re still under contract with your current tool, the overlap offer below means you don’t pay twice.
How does the overlap offer work?
Send us the date your current chat contract ends (a screenshot of the renewal date is enough) and choose an annual Team or Business plan. You use Tandly free until that date, for up to six months, and your annual plan starts when the old contract ends.
What if Tandly turns out not to be for us?
Downgrading never deletes anything, and Free keeps your full history for up to 10 people. On Business, admins can export channels and files whenever they like. If you close the workspace, its data is deleted for good 30 days later.
Where is our data?
Stored in the EU. Tandly is made by a Slovak company, and messages and files are stored in EU data centres. Push notifications are the exception: their title and preview pass through Apple, Google or your browser’s push service, which you can turn off. Our data processing addendum and subprocessor list say exactly who handles what.
