The message box is a rich-text editor. Bold looks bold and a list looks like a list while you type. What gets sent is the same plain formatting as before.
Open files inside Tandly. Images, PDFs, video, audio and text files open in a viewer instead of a download. PDFs and videos show a thumbnail in the conversation.
A status page that lives outside Tandly. status.tandly.app runs on separate infrastructure, so it can still tell you something when Tandly can't.
Reconnects that refetch nothing. When your connection drops and comes back, Tandly picks up the events you missed instead of reloading everything.
Read means read. A channel only counts as read while somebody is actually looking at it, not while it sits in a background tab.

A reconnect is no longer an outage. The "reconnecting" banner waits a moment before it appears, and during an update the server says it is leaving so your app can move over quietly.
A notification sound, and the preference that had been pretending to control one now does.
Signing in with Google no longer makes a second workspace for a company that already has one.
The emoji picker is fast again. It was building 1,871 buttons and rebuilding them on every hover. It now builds only the ones you can see.
Two phone fixes: a zoom nobody asked for when tapping the message box, and a drawer that covered someone's profile.

Reply to a message in the channel. Quote the message you're answering without starting a thread.
Inbox: deal with one thing at a time. Handling one item no longer marks the rest as handled too.
Opening a conversation clears it from the Inbox and from Catch-up, so they only show what you haven't seen.
Google Calendar: a DM tells you when somebody books a meeting with you, not only at the reminder.
Google Drive: a pasted Drive link shows the file's real name, and if a preview can't be shown, you're told why.
Directory sync, simplified. Setup explains the smallest set of permissions it needs, reads only domains you've proved you own, and leaves out accounts that aren't people.
E-mail domains are proved with DNS. A workspace can only claim a company domain after adding a TXT record, so nobody else can claim yours.
Preferences went from eight sections in one long column to eight tabs.

Two-factor authentication on every plan. Protecting your own account shouldn't cost extra. Workspace-wide rules (require 2FA, session limits) are on Business.
Automations (Team and above): when something happens in a channel, Tandly Bot does something about it — post, reply, remind, record a decision or call a webhook.
For larger organisations: admin data export, retention rules with legal hold, SAML single sign-on and SCIM provisioning.
Managed devices (Business): channels can be limited to company-managed devices.
A desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux is on its way. The first builds are running.

Things other chat apps don't do. A decision log, resolved threads and open questions. "Send when they're back", which holds a message until someone's working day starts. Handover to a stand-in while you're away. Mentions like @my-manager and @my-team. A "since you were away" catch-up. One inbox across workspaces. Personal folder rules.
Also new: async stand-ups run by Tandly Bot, temporary channels that archive themselves, a secret guard that warns before you post a password or API key, self-destructing messages, "I've read this" acknowledgements, and a support access log that shows you every action Tandly Support takes on your workspace.
